In 1988, DC fans had the remarkable chance to choose Robin’s fate, as thousands of comic readers worldwide voted whether Jason Todd should live or die at the hands of the Joker. Famously, they chose for Jason to die, creating comic book history in the process and shaping the future of the character, who eventually was reborn as the vigilante Red Hood.

But if you had the chance to do it again, would you make the same choice?

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is about to give you that opportunity, only this time you won’t be making the choice by calling a 900-number (remember those?), but by clicking your Blu-ray remote. Produced by DC and Warner Bros. Animation, DC Showcase – Batman: Death in the Family is an anthology of 2019-2020 animated shorts anchored by a new, extended-length short that adapts the iconic Batman: A Death in the Family comic book storyline by Jim Starlin and Jim Aparo. However, in a fitting twist, the Batman: Death in the Family short will take an interactive approach—a Warner Bros. Home Entertainment first—and offer viewers the opportunity to choose which direction the story goes by making choices using their remote control. As if that isn’t fascinating enough, this take on the classic storyline also boasts some intriguing connections to the popular 2010 DC Universe Movie, Batman: Under the Red Hood.

INJUSTICE 2 COMING SOON!

New music from Christopher coming soon in “Holidays”. The horror anthology that includes material from Kevin Smith, has been picked up for a day-and-date release from Vertical Entertainment and XYZ Films, an acquisition made in advance of the feature’s premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 14.

Vertical and XYZ will capitalize on the publicity from the debut screening at Tribeca to release the movie on digital and VOD on April 15, with a limited theatrical release set for April 22.

The stories collected in “Holidays” put a scary spin on annual holidays like Halloween, Valentine’s Day, Labor Day and Mother’s Day. The team of directors involved includes Smith, Gary Shore, Scott Stewart and Sarah Adina Smith. John Hegeman’s Distant Corner Entertainment produces with XYZ.

The oddly named Yoga Hosers marks the second film in the director's True North trilogy, following Tusk. As described by the Sundance fest (via Variety), "Colleen Collette and Colleen McKenzie are teenage besties from Winnipeg who love yoga and live on their smartphones. But when these sophomores get invited to a senior party by the school hottie, the Colleens accidentally uncover an ancient evil buried beneath their Canadian convenience store."

The Colleens are portrayed by Lily-Rose Depp and Harley Quinn Smith, the daughters of Johnny Depp and Kevin Smith. Depp himself appears in the film as Montreal man-hunter Guy LaPointe, a reprisal of his Tusk cameo, while many of the actors from that 2014 horror flick – Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez and more – will play new roles in the spinoff. Moose Jaws, the third film in the True North trilogy and a movie described as "Jaws with a moose," is expected to begin shooting next year.

In addition to the True North trilogy, Smith also revealed this year that he's working on sequels to Mallrats – dubbed MallBrats – as well as a third Clerks film.

NEWTOWN DOCUMENTARY PREMIEREING AT SUNDANCE

Christopher recently contributed music for the documentary NEWTOWN, which will be premiering at the Sundance Film Festival.

Christopher collaborated with an ensemble group of esteemed Hollywood film composers including Blake Neely, Tyler Bates, Deborah Lurie, George Clinton and others under the music direction of lead composer Fil Eisler.

Director Kim Snyder presents a story of the aftermath of the deadliest mass shooting of schoolchildren in American history on December 14, 2012. Newtown documents a traumatized community fractured by grief and driven toward a sense of purpose. Joining the ranks of a growing club to which no one wants to belong, a cast of characters interconnect to weave an intimate story of community resilience.

Aleph Records will release a soundtrack album for the horror anthology film Tales of Halloween. The album features the movie’s original score written by composers including Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious), Christoper Drake (Tusk), Austin Wintory (Journey), Christian Henson (The Devil’s Double), Bobby Johnston (Mother’s Day), Michael Sean Colin (Killjoy Goes to Hell),  Edwin Wendler (Unnatural), Jimmy Psycho (The Jimmy Psycho Experiment) and Sean Spillane (Jug Face).

Also included is the film’s main titles theme composed by Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible, The Amityville Horror).

The soundtrack will be released exclusively on iTunes on October 23, 2015. Tales of Halloween weaves together ten chilling tales from horror directors including Neil Marshall, Darren Lynn Bousman, Lucky McKee, Mike Mendez and Ryan Schifrin. The anthology feature will be released in select theaters and on VOD this Friday, October 16 by Epic Pictures.
